Today has been a knitting day, specifically a weird browny-silver and orange hat with tassels for one of our little redheads. Tomorrow's Sophie's day, and Saturday is Marian's. She may get mittens instead of a hat. Haven't decided. Maybe Sophie will get slippers. Wherever the yarn and the fingers lead me.
A couple of months ago I watched an interview with Stephanie Pearl-McPhee (yarnharlot.ca/blog/) in a park in Portland, Oregon. She was knitting a pair of socks on #0 double points at about 120 stitches per minute without ever glancing at her hands, and I was so envious! She can knit a pair of socks a day in her "spare" time! I'm taking a class with her at Madrona Fiber Arts Winter Retreat in February. I can't wait! I've been knitting for about fifty-five years, and I'll never be able to knit that fast! But so much love goes into every inch of yarn I spin and every stitch of knitting--I hope the kidlets can feel that love when they wear their handspun and hand-knitted pieces of minor clothing!
Good night, all. Happy spinning!
Kathy

FYI--Mittens and slipperrs would be a huge hit, as would hats.
