Mostly Knitting

Once again I apologize for such a long time between blog posts. I didn't have much of anything worth saying!

Can't remember if I mentioned in an earlier blog that one of my size 7 KnitPicks Harmony needle tips was very slightly delaminating and chewed up my yarn in Stephanie Pearl-McPhee's class at Madrona. Very frustrating and disappointing. Well, I e-mailed KnitPicks and then, when I didn't hear back in a couple of days, I sent a regular yarn order and included a note asking them to enclose my replacement yarn tip with the yarn. A couple of days after that, I received a Priority Mail envelope with not one but two beautiful size 7 tips at no charge, and then they also included another set with my yarn order at no charge. Wow! Plus I bought eight balls of Palette, a nice Peruvian wool fingering weight yarn at $1.79 a ball (over 200 yds. each). I don't know how they stay in business at the prices they charge. I love KnitPicks!

Have been spinning my heart out on Loosey, making gorgeous silver two ply woolen yarn from Xavier's fleece--very fine Romney, springy and soft--and on Rosey--luscious Blue Faced Leicester dyed in gorgeous colors by Sakina Needles. Yummy. I've also been swatching with my new yarns, and searching out fabulous (and also basic) sock patterns for the next few weeks' projects (after I finish Marian's hoodie, that is).

I've been sort of lagging in my "project" reading and studying; I haven't had much energy, but I'll be back on tract soon. Meditation has sort of lagged as well when I'm not at the spinning wheel, but it's still "coming home" for this wandering spirit. I'll be back soon, I promise!
